Deep Relaxation: Restorative Yoga with Gloria

Escape the hustle of daily life and step into a space of effortless relaxation. In this soothing class, Gloria will guide you through gentle movements and restorative poses designed to melt away tension you didn’t even know you were holding. With the support of pillows and props, you’ll sink into deep stillness, letting go of the day’s stresses and inviting a profound sense of calm.

Special meditation practices will be woven throughout the session, calming your mind and soothing your nervous system. This is more than just a yoga class; it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your breath, and nurture your inner peace.

Yoga for Relaxation was exactly what I needed to decompress and connect with my mind and body. No pressure, very relaxed atmosphere, it was the evening I needed.



Who Is This Class For?

Open to all ages and body types, no prior yoga experience is necessary. All you need is a willingness to embrace stillness and explore the restorative power of relaxation.

What to Bring and Expect:

Dress warmly and comfortably. We provide yoga mats, small cushions, and cotton blankets, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

The class will primarily involve seated, prone, or lying poses, with little to no standing. We’ll ease into restorative poses, holding them for longer periods to allow for deep relaxation. Each session will conclude with a meditation, possibly including Yoga Nidra, leaving you feeling completely rejuvenated. 

Meet Your Instructor: Gloria Vaughan

Gloria is a certified FMHC Health Coach, experienced Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, and the Director of the Metabolism Program at FMU. She specializes in stress management and nervous system regulation. Gloria leads trauma-sensitive, inclusive yoga classes that are accessible to everyone. Her teaching integrates mindfulness and body cues to guide each participant into the perfect range of motion, facilitating deep relaxation and connection between body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga with Gloria is the best! She guides her class through the exercises and is patient with those of us who need a little more time to get into the pose. She creates a warm and welcoming environment - perfect for all levels of experience.
