IV Nutrient Therapy

Intravenous Nutrient Therapy Overview

Intravenous (IV) Therapy involves delivering high doses of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids and plant-based medicines directly into the blood to provide rapid, effective relief of symptoms.

It is by far the fastest and most efficient method for treating nutritional shortcomings, re-establishing ideal physiological nutrient status, and achieving therapeutic levels of nutrients to treat a wide range of medical conditions.

How Do I Know If I Need IV Therapy?

IV nutrient therapy has a long list of indications because the delivery mechanism is quick and efficient. We have seen dramatic benefits for conditions that are rooted in low mitochondria function, like diabetes, heart conditions, and neurologic illnesses.

Here is a list of conditions that can benefit from IV therapy:

Our Approach & What to Expect on Your First Visit

We see IV nutrient therapy as another tool that can be used to bring your body back into balance. Many of us operate with nutritional deficiencies that play a role in our health concerns. IV therapy can rapidly work to correct these obstacles. We also understand that every patient is unique and this is why we have designed IV bags that are individualized to your condition. We have created adrenal, migraine, mitochondrial, cardiovascular, insomnia

Is IV therapy safe?

IV nutrient therapy has an excellent safety record. Your doctor will perform relevant laboratory testing to ensure proper liver and kidney function as well as rule out other contra-indictions to treatment. After an initial evaluation is performed a customized IV will be created for your individual requirements.

What is a Myers' Cocktail?

Myers’ cocktail is blend of vitamin C, vitamin B5, B6, B12, B complex, calcium and magnesium. It was developed by the physician Dr. John Myer’s and further refined by Dr. Alan Gaby, MD and has been used for decades to treat a wide range of medical conditions and improve immune function, adrenal fatigue, and mood.

What is a Mitochondrial IV?

It has been estimated by the leading mitochondrial researcher in the world, Dr. Doug Wallace, that the mitochondria drives over 85% of all chronic disease. They are small organelles in each cell of your body and are responsible for energy production and the management of healthy cytoplasmic water. Their function determines your energy, immune function, mood, metabolism, hydration, detoxification potential, and ability to resolve inflammation. Ask your practitioner if this bag is right for you.

Who performs the IV therapy?

At FMU we have three naturopathic doctors that are certified in the administration of IV therapy, Dr. Fitz, Dr. Snider, and Dr. Forristal. These doctors have undergone additional training and certification through the college of naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) to competently compound and administer your nutrient infusion. Dr. Fitz is the primary naturopathic doctor delivering the IV therapy at FMU

Do I need to go through an intake before receiving IV?

Yes, every patient is required to have an initial appointment with one of our naturopathic doctors before receiving IV therapy. This ensures that you have been properly screened and are a good candidate for the therapy.

"After 4 years of experiencing migraines, IV therapy was the first intervention that offered me relief. I was amazed."
